Pre-Owned Foil Drive MAX+ Products – Condition Guide

At Hydrofoil Store, our Foil Drive MAX+ trade-in programme gives existing Foil Drive owners the opportunity to upgrade their equipment, allowing us to offer selected pre-owned products at excellent value.

Every item accepted through our trade-in programme is inspected and assessed by Hydrofoil Store before being offered for sale. We grade products according to their cosmetic condition and carry out relevant functional checks to help ensure you know what to expect before making a purchase.

As these products have been previously owned and used, some signs of wear may be present. Please read the condition descriptions below carefully and refer to the individual product listing for the specific grade and details of the item you are purchasing.

Product Condition Ratings

Excellent Condition

Products graded Excellent are in very good cosmetic condition, showing only minimal signs of previous use.

What to expect:

  • Very light cosmetic wear, with minimal scratches or surface marks.
  • No significant surface pitting or visible cosmetic damage.
  • Connectors and relevant mechanical components are in excellent condition.
  • The product has been inspected and has passed the relevant functional checks carried out by Hydrofoil Store.

Excellent-condition products are ideal for customers looking for pre-owned equipment with minimal visible signs of use.

Good Condition

Products graded Good are in good overall condition and show normal signs of previous use.

What to expect:

  • Minor scratches, surface marks or signs of cosmetic wear.
  • Some surface pitting may be present where applicable.
  • Connectors and relevant mechanical components are in good working condition.
  • The product has been inspected and has passed the relevant functional checks carried out by Hydrofoil Store.

Good-condition products offer an opportunity to purchase pre-owned Foil Drive equipment at a more accessible price, with some additional cosmetic wear compared with Excellent-condition items.

Battery Inspection & Testing

Battery condition is particularly important when purchasing pre-owned electric hydrofoil equipment. Batteries accepted through our trade-in programme must meet our minimum acceptance requirements.

As part of our inspection process, we check that:

  • The battery charges to 100%.
  • The resting voltage is between 45.8V and 46.2V, following a full charge and a suitable resting period at room temperature.
  • The battery terminals show visible copper.
  • There is no corrosion on the terminals.
  • The battery's cosmetic condition is consistent with its assigned grade.

Please note: Passing these checks confirms that the battery meets our trade-in acceptance criteria at the time of testing. It does not guarantee the battery's remaining service life, original capacity or future performance. As with all previously used lithium-ion batteries, some degradation may have occurred through age, charging history and previous use.

Inspection & Functional Checks

All products accepted through the programme are subject to inspection before resale. Checks are appropriate to the product type and may include examining the casing, connectors, locking mechanisms, ports and other relevant components, as well as carrying out functional checks where applicable.

We will not knowingly grade an item as Excellent or Good if it fails to meet the relevant acceptance requirements.

The condition grade reflects the product's assessed condition at the time of inspection. It is not a guarantee that a previously used product will perform identically to a brand-new item.

Important Warranty Information

These pre-owned Foil Drive MAX+ products are sold without the standard Foil Drive manufacturer's warranty.

Unlike a new Foil Drive product purchased with the applicable manufacturer warranty, products sold through our trade-in programme do not come with a new standard Foil Drive warranty from the manufacturer. Customers should not assume that any warranty associated with the original purchase remains available or transfers to the new owner.

The products are inspected by Hydrofoil Store before resale, but this inspection does not constitute a manufacturer's warranty or a guarantee against future faults.

Please be aware that:

  • The standard Foil Drive manufacturer's warranty is not included with these pre-owned products.
  • Any previous manufacturer's warranty should be treated as unavailable unless its continued validity has been explicitly confirmed.
  • The product's condition grade describes its assessed cosmetic and functional condition at the time of inspection.
  • As these are previously used products, normal wear and age-related degradation may be present.

Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected. The exclusion of the standard manufacturer's warranty does not remove any rights or remedies you may have under applicable UK consumer law in relation to your purchase from Hydrofoil Store.
