AXIS FIREBALL 1500 - ULTRA High Mod Carbon Hydrofoil wing
The Fireball range has already reshaped what riders thought possible, and now we’re taking it further. Introducing the Fireball 1500 and Fireball 1750 — two wings that expand the limits of span, stiffness and efficiency, built from Ultra High Modulus Carbon and made possible through the breakthroughs of our Fatty mast and Fatty fuses. These are not just incremental steps; they are leaps into new territory.
The Fireball 1500 pushes the Aspect Ratio out to 17, a figure once unimaginable in a production foil. This isn’t just a number on a chart; it translates into endless glide with little input and a responsiveness that heavy riders and flatwater fanatics will feel instantly. For downwind days that barely seem possible, or sessions where pumping is the only option, the 1500 is the go-to.
And then there’s the Fireball 1750. With a whopping Aspect Ratio of 20, this wing moves from rumour into reality. For years, novelty versions circled, but none met the AXIS standard for release, until now. The 1750 is purpose-built for record-breaking flatwater feats and for extending glides with excellent responsiveness. Just ask the riders clocking over 20kmh for an hour, pumping in flatwater with speed and absolute control.
Don’t be fooled into thinking these are slow foils – they’re anything but. Fireball 1500 and Fireball 1750 have been engineered in line with AXIS’ commitment to strength, speed and connection. These wings aren’t about categories or limitations; they’re about expanding what’s possible for whoever dares to ride them
The key to the unique performance of the AXIS Fireball foil range is its all-new high-lift/low-drag foil section, with outlines featuring aspect ratio 13 and ULTRA high modulus carbon construction, tested and refined over a multitude of iterations by our devoted AXIS team.
This refined performance leap is here now, and yours to enjoy.
The AXIS Fireball front wings are our highest performance foils to date, that are very easy to use, with better stability across a much broader (and higher) speed range than we have ever achieved before.
And don't let the reduced surface area of the Fireball series phaze you. These foils have some serious range.
What makes the AXIS Fireball foils so unique?
ULTRA high modulus carbon construction. These thin, skinny, super high-aspect foils demand the stiffest construction, allowing you to extract every ounce of performance out of the foil section from tip to tip.
Aspect Ratio (AR) 13 - super high aspect design - promotes reduced drag, allowing you to pump faster and with more forward projection than ever before, you can run with swells, go up and over easier and chase down bumps in front of you.
Our high-lift, low-drag Fireballs have incredible lift and carry, simply refusing to stall where other foils would have dropped out long ago. This unique lift and carry design allows you to get flying earlier, and with less effort. Dreaded touchdowns can now be pumped out of with relative ease.
Overall Increased efficiency means advanced riders will be able to reduce foil area substantially, so you can conserve energy gain in speed and range while completing longer runs. You can choose a slightly reduced span, or ride approximately 200cm² less surface area than previously with the Fireball range.
The Fireball’s new foil section is very pitch stable which allows riders to drop down one or two skinny rear wing sizes. This further increases speed and reduces drag.
Fuselages: the Fireballs are best paired with the Short Advanced + fuselage for long distance downwind runs, or the Ultrashort Advanced + fuselage for shorter runs and a surfier feel.
Rear wings: the Fireballs are best paired with the smaller chord Skinny rears, with the 359/40 and 358/35 providing the minimal drag to reach their potential.
For advanced riders we recommend pairings of the new Skinny 358/30 and 358/25.
If you are 85kg (185lbs) or less, while we suggest to use the Fatty Mast and Fatty Fuselage, you could also consider the Pro Ultra High Modulus Mast or Power Carbon High Modulus Mast. If you are over the 85kg (185lbs) we strongly recommend the Fatty Mast and Fatty Fuselage, so you can properly control and get the best out of your Fireball 1500.
In order to properly control, steer, and get the most out of your Fireball 1750 we strongly suggest the use of the Fatty Mast and Fatty Fuselage.
