The Atom Surf Tail is KT’s maneuverability focused stabilizer, built to bring surf style control, confidence, and responsiveness to any foil setup. It is designed for riders who prioritize turning, feel, and adaptability over maximum glide or top end speed.

Compared to higher aspect tails like Pulse, Atom Surf delivers a more reactive and playful ride while maintaining strong pitch stability. The carbon construction allows riders to run a smaller tail for similar lift compared to aluminum or composite options, reducing drag while keeping control predictable.

Atom Surf is designed to work across the entire KT foil range. With proper shimming and spacing, it can also be tuned to work with other foil systems, allowing riders to dial in lift and feel depending on stance, fuselage length, and front wing choice.

KT ATOM 121 cm². The most lively and carvefocused option in the lineup. It feels sharp, reactive, and instantly engaged, built for riders who want maximum responsiveness and a short, surfy feel while still keeping pitch control locked in. The carbon layup lets you run it smaller than noncarbon tails for the same lift, cutting drag and giving the ride a crisp, controlled edge. Best paired with smaller to midsize front wings when you want looseness and agility without losing confidence or precision. Common frontwing matches:

• Halo – Ideal with 550 Surf, and great when you want the loosest, most reactive Halo feel
• Loosens up bigger front wings like the 800 and 950
• Solus – Ideal for 565 to 775 for cruising and turns
• Atlas – Pairs well with the 570 and 680 for surforiented riding
• Nomad -700 and 830 surf and cruise

 

KT ATOM 141 cm². A balanced, doeverything dailydriver size that feels smooth, lively, and composed. It keeps the surfforward character of the Atom but adds extra stability for choppier water, winging, or slightly heavier riders. When you want maneuverability without giving up control, this is the size that stays predictable, responsive, and confidenceinspiring in all conditions. Best paired with midrange front wings across most families, delivering a clean blend of looseness, stability, and allconditions versatility. Common frontwing matches:

• Halo – 550 to 800, both cruise and surf setups
• Solus – 650 to 1110 cruise, depending on rider weight and conditions
• Atlas – 570 to 960 surf and cruise
• Nomad -700 and 830 surf and cruise
• Instinct – ideal progression and advanced pairing once riders step down from the learning tail

 

KT ATOM 161 cm². The stabilityoriented option in the Atom family, the 161 feels calm, planted, and composed. It smooths out speed changes, chop, and transitions with extra pitch damping while still keeping that signature surfconnected Atom feel. This is the size you reach for when you want control and confidence at higher speeds or in mixed, messy water without losing the intuitive responsiveness that makes the Atom so fun to ride. Best paired with mid to largersize front wings, or any setup ridden fast in variable conditions where stability becomes a performance advantage. Common frontwing matches:

• Halo – 550 to 950, especially when you want added surf and freestyle stability
• Solus – 930 cruise setups
• Atlas – 790 to 1130 surf, and a strong choice when conditions get unpredictable
• Nomad – 830 to 980 surf and cruise

What do our Stock Statuses mean?

In Stock - In Store = Available to buy now & collect in store or buy online now for delivery.

In Stock - Storage Hub = These items are in stock in Swansea although stored in a third party Storage Hub. Items can be collected from the Storage Hub Monday - Friday 8.30am-5pm. If you require items to be collected from our store you may want to call us to check when we can collect these for you.

In Stock - To Order = Available but allow an additional 5-10 days for delivery or collection. Please contact us for additional information.

Pre-Order = This product needs to be ordered from our supplier and will only be ordered once a pre order is made. Or we've made an order from our supplier and stock is due to arrive at some date in the future, this date will be communicated where possible on product the page.

Out Of Stock = This product is no longer available, or we are waiting for a confirmed date for when new stock will arrive.
